Better taste than others July 12, 2007 P. D. Bigio (Summit, NJ) 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
It would be easy to say that this Protein shake doesn't taste good, but compared to what? So far in my 10 years of trying proteins and shakes, I can tell you that the best tasting 2 have been Muscle Milk and EAS Whey Protein. But Muscle Milk isn't a Protein Shake - its a Meal Replacement Shake and it contains a lot sugars which adds a lot of taste. In protein powders I have tried Cytosport's Evopro, that GNC protein stuff, Optimum Nutrition's Protein, and Isopro's Protein. So far - EAS Whey Protein is the best tasting chocolate shake even when it has only 1 gram of sugar and 3 grams of carbs per serving. EAS When Protein is also the easiest to mix and to clean off your cup. In fact you can just leave your cup sit in water for 10 minutes and all the left over will dissolve to the bottom of your cup.
Tasty beyond belief! October 3, 2007 Ashutosh Ingole (YORK, PA USA) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This was a blind buy and boy has it been free of regret. I have tried at least 6 different kinds of protein shakes. So far, this is the best.
The shakes that tasted good had so many additives that I could not drink more than twice a day because I would have exceeded my daily dose of the additives (chromium being the one that bothered me the most). Plus they were darn expensive. Some even had a strange aftertaste. Champion Ultramet, BSN Syntha 6 and GNC "super weight gainers" coming under this category.
The ones that were pure whey protein smelled so bad that I could not drink them. I cannot remember the exact brand names.
But EAS whey protein manages to have the best of both worlds. It is "almost" pure whey protein (the only additives this has are artificial sweetners). Plus it mixes easily and tastes AMAZING (plus no aftertaste). And if all this is not enough, at a major wholesale store, I found a six pound bag of Chocolate flavor for $30.
Whey protein for cheap what is there to say. November 10, 2008 J. Chan 14 out of 16 found this review helpful
I got 6lbs from costco for 33 dollars. Don't buy it on amazon it's too pricey and plus you get it now/closer from costco.
The best protein powder I've found September 6, 2007 Matthew T. Griffith (Iowa, United States) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
EAS' 100% Chocolate Whey Protein powder is the only protein powder I can drink mixed with water. It is not too chalky like many brands and flavors I've tried.
When mixed with a cup of skim milk it is a pleasant 200 calorie meal replacement. When mixed with 2 cups of skim milk and 1 Tbsp of nestle chocolate milk mix or Ovaltine it is delicious.
Amazing in smoothies June 24, 2009 Jolly Green Giant 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I use this twice a day in my smoothies, and it's wonderful. I'm not sure how well it blends with straight water for the hard core protein drinkers, but I use one scoop twice a day in my smoothie.
Here's my recipe for a weight loss smoothie:
1/2 banana (frozen is best)
1/2 cup strawberries (frozen is best)
1 scoop protein powder
1/2 cup ice
3-6 oz. yogurt - any flavor
Blend with kool-aid prepared with Stevia, crystal light, Stevia Bright, Orange Flavor, or juice until desired consistency.
Here's my recipe for a weight gain smoothie:
1 banana
1 packet calcium fortified hot cocoa
1 scoop protein powder
1/2 cup ice
2 tablespoons of peanut butter
3-6 oz. vanilla yogurt
Blend with soy milk until desired consistency.
Very low calorie frothy beverage:
1/2 cup frozen strawberies
1 scoop protein powder
3 ice cubes
blend with your favorite cold crystal light beverage
Both of these smoothie recipes make a very large, meal-sized smoothie. Splitting it with a friend or a spouse makes sense if it's just a snack rather than a meal replacement. If you're just wanting the protein powder and need it to taste better, the last recipe is really good but very low calorie.
This protein powder really helps me to control hunger and add a healthy start to my day. I have one for breakfast almost every day.
I use the Oster BPST02-B Professional Series Blender, Black and it comes out just as smooth and delicious as if I bought it from the local smoothie shop.
